Politics of Handshakes

Niall

After a bit of research, I have discovered that handshakes within the world of politics have deeper meanings than just a quick greeting of hello and bye.

For example, depending on which direction your palm is facing (downwards, to the side or upwards), depends on how you are perceived in the given moment, that being either the submissive or the dominant, or the equal recipient, which is a very rare occasion in politics.

More factors such as arm slaps, shoulder grabs or hand tugs also factor into the political domination game, much like a pack of wild animals. Whether it marks one political leader as humble, or the other as a force to be reckoned with, it's all a part of the game as opposed to being a decent human-being.
